How do I forward my Outlook student email to a personal address?

To forward your Outlook student emails to a personal address, login to your student emails via the Library and Student IT section on MyBeckett.

Once logged in, click the 'Settings'   icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.

In the Settings toolbar, select 'View all Outlook Settings'

Click on 'Email' then 'Rules'.

 

Select 'Add new rule'.

 

 

Name your rule, e.g. Forward to Personal Email

 

Add a condition, for example if you want all messages to be forwarded to your personal email account, select 'Apply to all messages'. If you only want certain emails to be forwarded, please select an individual condition. For more than one condition, you will need to add multiple forwarding rules.

Add an action, in this case 'forward to', then enter the email address you'd like to forward the emails to. If you want to forward the email to multiple people, specify more than one address.

You also have the option to select 'Add an exception' which allows you to specify any emails you'd like to exclude from this forwarding rule, e.g. apply to all emails 'except those from [insert email address]'.

 

Sometimes, you might set up several rules that could apply to a single message.

If you created a rule to move all messages with a subject line of 'Assignment' to your personal email, for example, and then created another rule to delete all messages with attachments, you probably wouldn't want a message related to an assignment that has an attachment to be deleted. To prevent this from happening, you can set the option Stop processing more rules on the first rule.

Subsequent rules will be ignored, even if they apply to the message.

Click 'Save' to process this rule.
