Why am I stuck in preview mode on PebblePad?

From the Preview mode you can click Back to workbook to return to edit mode.

Always close down your PebblePad after using it. If not PebblePad may make a duplicate Asset (labelled 'recovered' in your Asset store).

If a message is displayed via a red banner when editing your PebblePad. Close all tabs and check for any tabs/windows open - look for the PebblePad icon:

PebblePad will open in preview mode if it senses that your Asset is open elsewhere. If this happens, you will see the following red banner along the top of your screen:

You are in preview mode because this workbook or one of its pages is open elsewhere.

If you make changes there may be a risk of losing work. Click here to understand why. [Picture link opens PebblePad guide on Accessing the same asset in multiple windows/devices at the same time].

You are likely already logged in to PebblePad in another web browser tab/window or even on another computer or device.

To resolve this issue, locate the other tab/window/device in which you have PebblePad open (most likely it will be on the computer you are currently working on) and close them or continue to work on one device.

If you are unable to locate this, log out of PebblePad by clicking the logout button in the top right corner, wait 30 minutes and then try and edit your Asset again.

If after 30 minutes the message remains, please contact us for help.

Why did I get a message saying I may lose work?

If you're experiencing these warning messages, Pebble+ may have detected an asset being opened in multiple places. This can occur when two tabs/windows or devices have the same asset open.

Having an asset open in multiple locations can lead to losing work and should be avoided where possible. If you wish to continue with multiple tabs, then consider viewing one tab in preview mode and one tab in edit mode.

What can I do to prevent losing work?

If you see the warning about having an asset open multiple times you should first consider closing this new instance and returning to the original window or device. It is always safer to be working with only one instance of PebblePad open.

But I have definitely only got the asset open once!

You may find that you receive this message when you are certain that the asset is only open once. i.e., you only have it open in a single tab in a single browser on a single device. This can happen because Pebble+ tracks assets for up to half an hour before deciding they are no longer open. You probably had the same asset open elsewhere in the last 30 minutes, so as long as you are sure it is now only open in the one place, you are safe to continue.

PLEASE REMEMBER: PebblePad doesn't automatically save, so please ensure you never close down a tab or window without clicking save first.

Please also, ensure not to be logged in at the same time your External Assessor/Mentor is accessing your PebblePad to prevent issues.
