How do I print in colour?

All university PCs default to black and white. This is to make sure you don’t accidently pay for colour printing when you only needed black and white. You can change your document settings to print in colour if you wish to by following the instructions below.

Microsoft Office

These instructions are the same for all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Click on ‘File’ on the toolbar and then click on ‘Print’.
  • Please make sure the printer is set to ‘SafecomPullPrinter’.
    • You can click on the triangle next to the printer name to change which printer you are using.  If ‘SafecomPullPrinter’ isn’t available on the list please speak to a member of the Library Advice Team.
  • Click on the ‘Printer Properties’ hyperlink which you can find underneath the printer name.
  • Click on the colour tab in the properties window.
  • Untick ‘Print in Grayscale’ and click ‘OK’.
  • Click the ‘Print’ button and your document will be waiting for you at any University printer.
    • Remember you still need to print from a colour printer.
