Some assignments allow you to overwrite your previous Turnitin submissions until the due date. This option is set by your tutor on an assignment by assignment basis.

If resubmission is not enabled, the tutor must manually delete your previous submission to allow you to submit a second file. You can check with your tutor to see if you they have allowed you to submit multiple times or not.

Once you know you can, locate the Turnitin Assignment in your module. Click View Assignment and there will be a Submit button on the next screen which you will have used for your first submission. All you need to do is repeat the process again by clicking this button and make a new submission, and Turnitin will overwrite the existing assignment.

Note: Any second or subsequent submission will overwrite the original file submission in the assignment. Therefore, the original can't be retrieved! When making a second submission please bear in mind that a Similarity Index/Originality Report can take up to 48 hours to appear. You can use the Refresh button within your Submissions Inbox area in Turnitin to refresh your submission to see if your report comes through, although the system will do this periodically.
