If you have ever registered for an ORCID previously, please use that ORCID iD and follow the instructions on the FAQ Can Symplectic automatically update ORCID with my research outputs? If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it on the ORCID website.
Create an account through Symplectic (recommended):
- Log in to Symplectic using your standard University username and password
- On your home page there is a large banner under the heading My Actions
- Use the banner arrows to scroll through your actions until you see the Add your ORCID iD banner
- Click Add and it will take you to ORCID's website
- Click Register now
- Complete the simple registration form. It is recommended you add a personal email address as well as your Leeds Beckett email address so you can access your ORCID account if you leave the university
- You will be taken to your new ORCID record unless your name is identical to another already in ORCID's database. In this case, simply check none of the records listed are you and click none of these are me
- Your ORCID is now set up
- You will need to verify the email address used. Log into your email account, find the email ORCID will have automatically sent you, and then click the link in the email. This proves to ORCID it is an active email address
- You now need to configure what information is sent from Symplectic to ORCID and vice versa. Follow the instructions on the FAQ Can Symplectic automatically update ORCID with my research outputs?
