Does Rights Retention just apply to journal articles?

At present, Rights Retention (RR) at the University just applies to journal articles and not to monographs, scholarly editions, textbooks, book chapters, collections of essays, datasets, or other outputs that are not scholarly articles. However, the University strongly encourages researchers to make these as openly available as possible. Contact the Library Research Services for more information.

In addition, RR only applies to first copyright in authored research publications. It does not extend to other Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in research, which are already covered in the University’s IPR Policy.
