Try the easy option first by using the Capture tool. Install the Capture Reference tool from the EndNote Downloads menu to import references automatically into your EndNote library. You can use the Capture Reference button as well as EndNote Capture toolbars for Internet Explorer, Firefox and similar browsers.

EndNote does not automatically capture PDFs so if you want to save PDFs with your bibliographic data you must download them and then use the paperclip icon ('View file attachments') under the title of your EndNote entry to upload the PDF.

Some databases work well with the Capture tool, e.g. Sage Journals, but for other databases you must find the option to Export to EndNote Web/EndNote Online, or to export files in a format compatible with importing to EndNote. You can also manually enter items.
