What training is available to develop skills required for postgraduate research?

The skills you need to develop will be distinct to you and your research project. You will undertake a Training Needs Analysis to help you identify skills to improve, and your supervisor will provide support and guidance for your individual development aims.

The Graduate School has developed a Research Training Programme (RTP) to equip you with the skills and competencies required to complete your research degree.  It includes workshops and seminars on various skills such as NVivo, SPSS, Writing at Research Level and Reference Management software. The RTP is mapped to the Vitae Researcher Development Framework, which describes the knowledge, behaviour and attributes of successful researchers.

Recordings of past Research Training Programme sessions are accessible via the RTP module in MyBeckett.
