The licence code of SPSS needs to be updated yearly. 

When the current licence is due to expire SPSS will display a message warning you about this. 

Please get in touch with the library directly to request the new license code and download instructions.

To enter the new code you will need to open the SPSS Authorisation Wizard. 

Windows

1. Use the search option on the bottom left of the Taskbar.
    
2. Search for and select 'SPSS License Authorization Wizard' (note the US spelling) from the search results.
    
3. The Licence Authorisation Wizard will launch.
    
4. The Wizard will display the Licence Status window, which shows the authorisation status for all detected SPSS components. Click Next.
    
5. In the Product Authorisation window, select Authorised User Licence (I purchased a single copy of the product).
    
6. Enter the new authorisation code you have received. 
    
7. If successful, the installer will report "Successfully processed all codes." 
    
8. Click Finish. You have now completed the licence update.
    

MAC OS

1. In your Applications folder, you should see either an IBM folder or an SPSS folder. Open that folder.
    
2. Inside that folder should be a folder called either SPSS 26. Open that folder.
    
3. You will see an application called Licence Authorisation Wizard. Double-click that program.
    
4. The Licence Authorisation Wizard will then launch.
    
5. The Wizard should display the Licence Status window, which shows the authorisation status for all detected SPSS components. Click Next.
    
6. In the Product Authorisation window, select Authorised User Licence (I purchased a single copy of the product).
   
   
7. Enter the new authorisation code you have received. 
    
8. If successful, the installer will report "Successfully processed all codes." Click Next.
    
9. Click Finish. You have now completed the licence update.
