Why do I see an error message saying "bad request", "bad message" or "this page isn't working"?

Error messages may appear after you have been logged in to your MyBeckett or Discover account for some time and your login times out. You may see one of the following error messages:

  • Bad Message 431
  • 400 Bad Request
  • This page isn't working

To continue accessing resources, please try one of the following methods:

  • Close all browsers. Re-open your browser (we recommend Chrome) and open the MyBeckett home page (my.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/). Then go to the Library card and click on Discover to find and access your resource.
  • Copy the link address of the resource page. Open an incognito window, and paste in the address. You will be prompted to log in again, then you will be able to access your resource.
  • Clear your cookies (please see this guide) and log in again by re-opening the MyBeckett home page. Then go to the Library card and click on Discover to find and access your resource.

Please note that you may lose saved usernames or passwords if you choose to clear all cookies in your browser.

If you are still having issues after trying all of these ways, please contact us via libraryonline@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.
