What is the Ally File Transformer?

The Ally File Transformer is an online tool that helps you to personalise your learning experience.

You can use the Ally File Transformer to convert files into alternative formats to suit your needs, devices, and learning preferences. For example, you may have a Word document that you want to transform into an audio file so that you can listen to the content. Or perhaps you require a PDF that has undergone Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

How do I use the Ally File Transformer?

  1. Log into MyBeckett.
  2. Click the Assist link in the main menu on the left.

  3. Click the Ally File Transformer link.
  4. Click the Browse button to locate and select the file you would like to convert.

  5. Click Open.
  6. Type Leeds Beckett University if prompted to enter your institution.
  7. Tick the checkbox to confirm you are "not a robot".
  8. Click Transform my file.

  9. Use the radio buttons to select the alternative format that you require.

  10. Click Download.

  11. It may take a few minutes to process your request.
  12. The file will be saved into the usual downloads area on your device.
