How do I download an EBSCO eBook?

To download full-text eBooks from EBSCO, you will need to install Thorium Reader. The Thorium Reader is available for download on 6 different devices, is compatible with screen readers and has a range of accessibility features. 

  1. Install the Thorium Reader on your device
  2. Click the 'download' icon and select the 'full eBook' option
  3. Sign into your EBSCO account. If you have not already created an EBSCO account, please follow the guide on 'How to manage and create an ESBCO account'
  4. You will be presented with a passphrase. You will need to copy and paste the passphrase into the Thorium Reader application once installed and opened
  5. Download the eBook and open in the Thorium Reader app from your downloads. Alternatively, you can 'import publication' from Thorium and open the file from your downloads

Please note: 

  • The Thorium Reader is only available on Windows, MAC and Linux devices. iOS and Android device access is currently in development
  • You are only required to enter the passphrase once after registering your device. If you download the Thorium Reader on another device, you will be presented with a new passphrase
  • Your online reading experience and PDF chapter downloads will not change
