How do I use the journal tool in MyBeckett Ultra?

This guide relates to MyBeckett Ultra modules

Ultra is the new view of MyBeckett modules, if your module does not look like the instructions below then please refer to our MyBeckett Original module instructions on how to use the journals tool.

MyBeckett's journals tool is a bit like a blog. Depending on the settings chosen by your lecturer, the journal will either be private (so you and your lecturers can see your posts) or open to all (so all lecturers and students enrolled on the module can see your posts).

How do I post a journal entry?

Your lecturer may ask you to write online journal entries as part of your module. To do this:

  1. First locate the journal tool within your MyBeckett module. This will have a name and description chosen by your lecturer. In MyBeckett Ultra modules, the journal icon looks like a notebook and a pencil.

  2. Under Entries, click inside the Type an entry text box.
The journal entry text box is a white box against a light grey background.

    • You can also include links, attachments and images.
  4. To include a link, first select the text that you want to use as a hyperlink and then click the link icon. You can then enter the link URL (web address).

For images, you will be prompted to check the way that the image displays (you can change the aspect ratio and use the zoom options to change this). Finally, you will need to enter a display name and some alternative text to describe the image for screenreaders (or tick Mark the image as decorative).
