How do I use MyBeckett discussions in an Ultra module?
Ultra is the new view of MyBeckett modules, if your module does not look like the instructions below then please refer to our MyBeckett Original module instructions on How to use Mybeckett discussion boards.
What is a discussion group?
Your tutor can create group discussions for you to discuss a topic with a group of your classmates. Your tutor may expect you to create your own discussions or participate in existing ones. Your tutor can also grade your contributions to a discussion.
If your tutor has added due dates for graded discussions, you will be able to access them from your Grade Centre, the Calendar and the Activity Stream.
You can also navigate to the Discussions page from the Course Content page to access all discussions at once
Participating in a Discussion
Discussions are organised into posts and replies. Your tutor may require you to respond to a discussion before you can read other responses and replies. When you access this type of discussion you will see the following message
You can then use the text box to type your reply, attach files and embed multimedia. You then click Post when you are ready to contribute or Save Draft to come back to your discussion.
Creating a discussion
If your tutor has switched on this feature, you will be able to create discussions for your classmates to participate in. Your tutor can delete any discussions, responses and replies.
To create a discussion, navigate to the Discussions page within your Module and select New Discussion.
You would then choose a Discussion title and enter your discussion topic in the text box. Select Save when you're done. Other people on your module will then be able to view and contribute to your discussion.
Note: Only your Tutor can edit the title once you have saved it
Each time you visit a discussion, new responses and replies are labelled with NEW to bring attention to any activity that you may have missed.
