What is the Asset Store in PebblePad?

Introduction

The Asset Store is an area within your PebblePad account where all of your Assets are saved, and is the main folder for your Assets. It can be accessed from your PebblePad home screen by clicking on 'Assets' underneath your name:

You can also access it using the main menu in the top left corner of PebblePad:

Elements of the Asset Store

Becoming familiar with the Asset Store is essential for getting the most out of PebblePad - see below for a breakdown of elements.

  1. Asset Store Link - This link will take you to the Asset Store. A blue line underneath indicates that is where you currently are.
  2. Resource Store Link - This link will take you to the Resource Store.
  3. Favourites Store Link - This link will take you to a full list of all your Favourites.
  4. Deleted Store Link - This link will take you to the Deleted Store, which is where any Assets that you delete will move to. From here you may 'Purge' Assets in order to permanently delete them. NOTE: If you have more than 50 items in your Deleted Store, the oldest Assets will automatically be purged.
  5. Keyword Search Box - The search box allows you to search for your Assets by name, description or Tag. Adding Tags to Assets makes it easier to find them in the search.
  6. Asset - Clicking on an Asset's name will open it.
  7. Comment Indicator - This icon will display a notification of comments next to it if your Asset has been commented on.
  8. Feedback Indicator - This icon will display a notification of feedback next to it if your Asset has any formal feedback from your tutor attached to it.
  9. Person Share Indicator - This icon will display a notification next to it if your Asset has been shared with another person who uses PebblePad.
  10. Web Share Indicator - This icon will display a notification next to it if your Asset has been shared as a web link.
  11. Assessment Share Indicator - This icon will display a notification next to it if your Asset has been shared for an assignment.
12. Asset Information - This icon will open up a side box and show the general Asset information, including the various sharing options described above and provide options to remove them. It will also give you the ability to rename and tag the Asset if you haven't already done so.

Organising your Asset Store

You cannot create sub-folders in the Asset Store, but you can organise your Assets by 'tagging' them with keywords, allowing you to quickly sort the Asset Store by tag - see here for our guide on using Tags. In this way, Tags are like folders, and using Tags will be of great benefit to you, especially if you are using PebblePad over multiple years of your course!
